11:06 AM EST, 01/10/2025 (MT Newswires) -- American Express' ( AXP ) Global Business Travel Group is facing a lawsuit by the US Department of Justice to block its planned acquisition of CWT Holdings on antitrust concerns, according to a Friday statement.

In the lawsuit, the Justice Department alleged that the merger will "combine two of the three largest players in business travel management services for global and multinational companies" in the US and will harm competition in the sector.
