01:05 PM EDT, 10/01/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Honda Motor ( HMC ) unit American Honda on Tuesday reported September sales 8.6% lower year over year to 105,527 units.
Car sales declined 21% to 31,250 units and truck sales fell 2.1% to 74,277 units, American Honda said.
"Despite some supply issues due to the preparation for EV manufacturing and supply challenges related to the catastrophic Hurricane Helene in the Southeast, we continue to gain sales momentum based on a flexible strategy of offering fuel efficient petrol, hybrid-electric and battery-electric models to meet the needs of our customers," Lance Woelfer, American Honda's vice president of auto sales, said in a statement.
The company's Q3 sales were 8% higher year over year at 366,214 units, results showed.
Car sales during the quarter declined 6.7% to 109,840 units, while truck sales rose 15.7% to 256,324 units.
