08:45 AM EDT, 03/15/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Honda Motor ( HMC ) and Nissan Motor have signed a memorandum of understanding to study the feasibility of a potential partnership in electric vehicles and auto intelligence, the companies said Friday.

The Japanese automakers said the study would cover automotive software platforms, EV-related core components and complementary products.

They said it is "necessary to combine their strengths" and look into the possibility of collaborating in the future.

Honda ( HMC ) was advancing 2% in recent premarket activity.
