04:37 PM EDT, 04/08/2025 (MT Newswires) -- American Water Works ( AWK ) unit New Jersey American Water said late Tuesday it has completed the acquisition of the water system of Shrewsbury Township's Alfred Vail Mutual Association community.

Financial details weren't provided.

New Jersey American Water said it plans to make infrastructure investments in the community's water system, which serves 265 customer connections, while keeping the rates affordable.

The transaction followed the approval of the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs and the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities.
