04:35 PM EDT, 10/07/2025 (MT Newswires) -- American Water Works ( AWK ) unit New Jersey American Water said late Tuesday it closed the acquisition of the South Orange Village water system for $19.7 million.

Under the agreement, New Jersey American Water will invest $50 million in infrastructure improvements in the first 10 years while keeping rates affordable for customers, according to the company.

The company plans to improve service reliability, drive infrastructure investments, and enhance operational efficiency for customers, the company said.
