Apogee Enterprises Lifts Outlook as Fiscal First-Quarter Sales Rise
Jun 27, 2025 8:38 AM

11:12 AM EDT, 06/27/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Apogee Enterprises ( APOG ) raised its fiscal 2026 outlook on Friday after the architectural products and services provider's first-quarter revenue rose year on year despite tariff headwinds.

The company now expects adjusted per-share earnings in the range of $3.80 to $4.20, up from its prior guidance of $3.55 to $4.10. The consensus estimate on FactSet based on projections from four analysts pointed to $3.74.

Revenue is now pegged at $1.40 billion to $1.44 billion, compared with the previous outlook of $1.37 billion to $1.43 billion. Analysts are looking for $1.39 billion.

For the three months through May, sales rose 4.6% year on year to $346.6 million, above the $325.5 million consensus view. Adjusted EPS fell to $0.56 from $1.44, but surpassed the $0.47 projected by analysts.

"We are pleased to deliver results ahead of our expectations in the first quarter amid challenging market conditions and year-over-year headwinds," Chief Executive Ty Silberhorn said in a statement.

Shares of the company were up 6.1% in Friday trade.

The performance surfaces division's revenue almost doubled to $42.3 million, which included $22 million from the acquisition of UW Solutions. Architectural metals sales fell 3.4% to $128.6 million.

"While increased tariffs did impact our results in both metals and surfaces, we continued to successfully execute our mitigation plans," Silberhorn said at earnings call, according to a FactSet transcript. "Barring any material change in trade policy, we expect to substantially mitigate the impact of tariffs on the second half of our fiscal year."

The updated full-year outlook includes a $0.35 to $0.45 hit to EPS from tariffs that will mainly impact first-half results before mitigation efforts take full effect. Chief Financial Officer Matthew Osberg told analysts that second-quarter results are expected to improve sequentially.

Revenue in the architectural services segment rose 7.6% year on year to $106.5 million in the first quarter, driven by increased volume. Glass sales slumped 16% due to reduced volume.

Price: 42.09, Change: +2.42, Percent Change: +6.10
