03:33 PM EDT, 05/19/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Apple ( AAPL ) faces a court-imposed deadline on restoring Epic Games' "Fortnite" to its US App Store.

Apple ( AAPL ) must appear in court on May 27 if it fails to comply with the order to restore the game, US District Judge Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers said Monday, according to a court document.

"Apple ( AAPL ) is fully capable of resolving this issue without further briefing or a hearing," the judge said. "However, if the parties do not file a joint notice that this issue is resolved, and this court's intervention is required, the Apple ( AAPL ) official who is personally responsible for ensuring compliance shall personally appear at the hearing" on May 27, according to the document.

Fortnite said Friday that Apple ( AAPL ) has blocked the video game's submission, preventing the release on the US App Store.

Apple ( AAPL ) and Epic Games didn't immediately respond to requests for comment from MT Newswires.
