06:54 AM EST, 12/03/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Arizona Sonoran Copper ( ASCUF ) on Tuesday said it has received an amendment to the industrial air permit from the Pinal County Air Quality Division.
The company has also applied for an amended aquifer protection permit, which is under review by the Arizona Department of Environment and Quality.
The amended industrial air permit pertains to a February pre-feasibility study configuration, which excluded the MainSpring deposit. The company in August issued a preliminary economic assessment incorporating MainSpring and superseding the 2024 pre-feasibility study.
The preliminary economic assessment contemplates an operation that would produce 116,000 short tons of copper cathode per year over the first 20 years of a 31-year mine life.
Arizona Sonoran has also completed an updated polling survey demonstrating support for the Cactus project.
The company in October commissioned a poll of 500 frequent voters in Casa Grande and surrounding areas. Polling found that 86.6% of respondents supported the Cactus project, up from 82.6% in 2021.
