Australia's Aware Super taps insider Simon Warner as chief investment officer

Oct 30 (Reuters) - Australian pension fund Aware Super

on Thursday named Simon Warner as its new chief investment

officer, effective December 1, replacing outgoing CIO Damian

Graham.

Warner, who joined the A$205 billion ($133.2 billion) fund

in 2023 as head of portfolio management, will lead Aware Super's

160-member investment team overseeing assets across equities,

fixed income, infrastructure, property and private equity, the

fund said.

Before joining Aware Super, Warner held several senior roles

at AMP Capital, including global head of public markets and

global CIO/co-head of global equities and fixed income.

He also worked at JPMorgan Chase ( JPM ) in London, Singapore and

Sydney, including serving as CIO for Australia and New Zealand.

Aware Super, one of Australia's largest superannuation

funds, said in May that Graham would transition to the role of

head of international operations, based in London, after 12

years as CIO.
