Oct 23, 2024 5:06 AM

07:37 AM EDT, 10/23/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Baylin Technologies ( BYLTF ) said on Wednesday that its subsidiary, Advantech Wireless Technologies, won an $800,000 contract to operate and maintain the Canadian government's North Warning radar surveillance system.

The system has 47 radar sites extending across the Arctic from the western part of the Yukon to the southern coast of Labrador. These radar sites are linked by a satellite communications network to the Canadian Air Defence Sector in North Bay, Ontario.

"Ground station amplifiers from Advantech enable the continuous remote monitoring of all 47 sites on a 24/7 basis," Baylin ( BYLTF ) CEO Leighton Carroll said. "Ground station amplifiers play an important role in both civilian and defense networks, facilitating reliable communication links between multiple sites."

Baylin's ( BYLTF ) share price rose 1.2% yesterday to $0.435 on the TSX.
