WASHINGTON, Jan 10 (Reuters) - U.S. President Joe Biden

on Friday described as "shameful" the decision by social media

company Meta Platforms ( META ) to scrap its U.S. fact-checking

program on Facebook, Instagram and Threads.

"I think it's really shameful," Biden said.
