BlackRock Says Shooter in Trump's Assassination Attempt Appeared in 2022 Ad
Jul 15, 2024 3:52 AM

06:36 AM EDT, 07/15/2024 (MT Newswires) -- BlackRock ( BLK ) said the shooter in the recent assassination attempt on former US President Donald Trump briefly appeared in one of its advertisements in 2022, media outlets reported Monday, citing a statement from the company.

"In 2022, we ran an ad featuring a teacher from Bethel Park High School, in which several unpaid students briefly appeared in the background, including Thomas Matthew Crooks," BlackRock ( BLK ) said in an emailed statement to Reuters.

Crooks shot and injured the former president during a Saturday campaign rally in Pennsylvania, according to the reports. BlackRock ( BLK ) said it has pulled the ad off circulation and that it will turn over the materials to the authorities, the reports added.

BlackRock ( BLK ) did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
