BlackSky Technology Wins Contract Worth Up to $290 Million For Economic Activity, Military Capability Monitoring

09:13 AM EDT, 10/03/2024 (MT Newswires) -- BlackSky Technology ( BKSY/WS ) said Thursday it won a contract worth up to $290 million from the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency to monitor worldwide economic and environmental activity as well as military capability.

The company said that under the five-year contract, it expects to provide analytical services for the detection and identification of aircraft, ships, vehicles, shipping containers and other "objects of interest."

The Luno A contract is the follow-on contract to the agency's $60 million Economic Indicator Monitoring contract that was originally awarded in 2021, the company said.

BlackSky ( BKSY/WS ) shares were up over 11% in recent premarket activity.
