07:11 AM EDT, 09/26/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Blackstone (BX) confirmed an investment of 10 billion pounds ($13.38 billion) in a new artificial intelligence data center in England, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer said Wednesday.

The UK's Office for Investment facilitated the deal with Blackstone and construction is set to start next year, according to the prime minister. Starmer also said the project is expected to create over 4,000 jobs, including 1,200 posts related to the construction.

Blackstone did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
