09:21 AM EDT, 05/24/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Boeing ( BA ) said Friday it, the company's unionized workers, and federal regulators will serve on a new committee to review safety incidents and quality concerns.

Boeing ( BA ) said in its 2024 Chief Aerospace Safety Officer Report that the company, its largest labor union, the International Association of Machinists 751, and the Federal Aviation Administration will sit on the event review committee, which is meant to encourage employees to speak out about their concerns about quality and safety without fear of retaliation.

Boeing ( BA ) said its efforts to encourage employees to speak up about concerns in the wake of the January in-flight blowout on a 737 Max has resulted in a 500% increase in the number of reports by employees from last year.
