06:09 AM EDT, 06/12/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Boeing ( BA ) said Tuesday that it will open a new engineering facility at the Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Florida, to support its defense and government services portfolios.

The company said initial plans for the facility include employees working on military aircraft programs and advanced technology capabilities.

Boeing ( BA ) said it expects the facility to be operational by late fall and plans to hire 200 engineering jobs this year, with the expectation of substantially doubling that number in the coming few years.
