09:52 AM EST, 03/05/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Boeing ( BA ) said Tuesday it won a $439.6 million contract to build the 12th Wideband Global SATCOM communications satellite for the Space Systems Command of the US Space Force.

The WGS constellation provides high-capacity and secure communication capabilities to the US military and its allies, the company said.

Shares of Boeing ( BA ) were up 0.3% in recent trading.
