06:50 AM EDT, 09/25/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Boeing ( BA ) workers represented by the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers District 751 are "not interested" in the firm's latest 30% general wage increase offer as it was deemed "inadequate", the union said Tuesday in a Facebook post.

The jet maker said it would extend the timeline for a vote on the new offer after the union dismissed the initial Friday deadline, Reuters reported Wednesday, citing Boeing ( BA ).

The union added that a 30% wage hike offer from the company is "progress" but does "not erase" the fact that members received only an 8% wage increase over the past decade.

"The only way to resolve this strike is through negotiations, and rest assured, your Union will not bargain through the media," the post said.

Boeing ( BA ) did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
