Bombardier Says New Service Facility to Relocate to Al Bateen Executive Airport in Abu Dhabi
Apr 10, 2025 4:39 AM

07:24 AM EDT, 04/10/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Aircraft maker Bombardier (BBD-A.TO, BBD-B.TO) overnight Wednesday said its new service facility will relocate to the Al Bateen Executive Airport in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, from its originally announced location at the Abu Dhabi International Airport.

"This move represents a strategic alignment, given the airport's dedicated focus on business aviation and its ability to provide a seamless and efficient experience for Bombardier's clientele," said Abu Dhabi Airports Chief Executive Elena Sorlini.

Construction of the facility is set to commence in the first half of 2025. The company expects completion and operational readiness in the second half of 2026.

The new service facility will feature a 55,000 square foot hangar, a parts depot, and a complete suite of maintenance services including scheduled and unscheduled heavy maintenance, aircraft modifications and aircraft-on-ground capabilities.

The company said the new facility will accommodate Bombardier's Global 7500 aircraft, as well as the new Bombardier Global 8000, when it enters into service during the second half of 2025.

Shares of Bombardier closed up 13.6% to $85.51 on Wednesday on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
