08:37 AM EST, 02/11/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Bombardier (BBD-A.TO, BBD-B.TO) said Wednesday that it has received firm orders from longtime customer Vista and its commonly controlled entities for 40 Challenger 3500 business aircraft, with purchase options for an additional 120 aircraft.
The orders are valued at US$1.18 billion based on 2026 list prices, Bombardier said.
If all purchase options are exercised, the total order value for all 160 aircraft would reach US$4.72 billion, the company added.
Bombardier said the Challenger 3500 aircraft became the fastest-growing platform in 2024 to reach 100 deliveries in the super-midsize category. The aircraft has a dispatch reliability rate of over 99.8% and the lowest direct operating costs in its category, the company said.
Bombardier announced the Vista order amid threats by U.S. President Donald Trump to impose steep tariffs on Canada-made aircraft, escalating a dispute over aviation certification that he claims has unfairly blocked U.S. jet sales in Canada.
