07:16 AM EST, 01/02/2025 (MT Newswires) -- BP (BP) said Thursday that gas has begun flowing from the first phase of the Greater Tortue Ahmeyim liquefied natural gas project offshore Mauritania and Senegal.
The project's first phase is expected to produce about 2.3 million tonnes of LNG per year when fully commissioned, said the company.
Separately, Kosmos Energy ( KOS ) said it expects to start recognizing revenue from the project with the first LNG cargo in Q1.
BP serves as the project operator with a 56% working interest, while Kosmos Energy ( KOS ) owns a 27% stake and two other partners own the remaining 17% interest, according to the statement.
