05:54 PM EDT, 09/10/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Brookdale Senior Living ( BKD ) said late Tuesday that August weighted average occupancy rose 30 basis points sequentially to 78.9%, a new high since the start of market recovery in March 2021.

Month-end occupancy closed at 80.4%, the company said.

Weighted average occupancy increased 130 basis points in August and 140 basis points quarter-to-date versus comparable periods in 2023.

Brookdale shares rose 1.5% in after-hours activity.
