07:40 AM EST, 12/10/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Canada Nickel ( CNIKF ) reported Tuesday a key permitting milestone for its Crawford nickel sulfide project in Ontario.

The company said the Impact Assessment Agency of Canada (IAAC) has determined that the project's Impact Statement meets the necessary accessibility and formatting requirements and contains sufficient information to proceed into the next phase.

Canada Nickel ( CNIKF ) said the decision has advanced the project to a 60-day public comment period that began on Monday and will close Feb. 7.

The company's share price fell 2.1% yesterday to near 52-week lows of $0.92 on the TSXV.
