Canfor Says Its 77%-owned Subsidiary, Vida AB, Completes Acquisition of Sawmills in Central Sweden

05:14 PM EDT, 09/17/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Canfor ( CFPZF ) after trade Wednesday said Vida AB, its 77%-owned subsidiary, completed the $164-million acquisition of AB Karl Hedin Sagverk.

A statement notes the transaction adds approximately 230 million board feet to Vida's annual production capacity, bringing its total annual production capacity to approximately 2.1 billion board feet.

"We are excited to welcome the employees at AB Karl Hedin Sagverk's three sawmills in Karbenning, Krylbo and Sater into the Canfor ( CFPZF ) family," said Canfor ( CFPZF ) chief executive Susan Yurkovich. "This acquisition strengthens Vida's geographic footprint, increasing access to high-quality timber resources in Sweden, while continuing to diversify Canfor's ( CFPZF ) operations globally."

Canfor ( CFPZF ) shares closed down $0.26, or 1.9%, to $13.11 on the TSX today.
