(Reuters) -Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney on Wednesday said working through issues related to softwood lumber is a top priority in ongoing trade negotiations with the U.S., but a deal that works for Canadian workers isn't yet on the table.

Speaking to reporters in Hamilton, Carney pointed out that U.S. trade deals with other counties are going to involve very high tariffs, but he declined to say what, if any, tariff level would be acceptable for Canada as part of a deal.
