08:34 AM EDT, 05/22/2024 (MT Newswires) -- CGI (GIB) said Wednesday that it has appointed Francois Boulanger, the company's chief operating officer, as its chief executive officer, effective Oct. 1.

Boulanger will succeed George Schindler, who retires effective Sept. 30, the company said.

Schindler will remain a board member for a transition phase and act as a strategic advisor to Serge Godin, the company's founder and executive chairman.
