09:08 AM EDT, 05/28/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Chevron ( CVX ) confirmed to MT Newswires Wednesday that three workers had died from a fire that broke out at its Angolan unit's oil platform.

A total of 17 workers were injured when fire broke out at Cabinda Gulf Oil's Benguela Belize Lobito Tomboco deepwater facility in Angola on May 20, according to a statement.

A worker died on Saturday, while the body of a second worker was found underwater near the BBLT platform on Sunday, the company said.

A third worker died from their injuries in hospital Tuesday, the company added.
