Cogeco Communications Shares Edge Ahead Amid Mobile Service Expansion
Oct 15, 2025 12:17 PM

02:47 PM EDT, 10/15/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Cogeco Communications ( CGEAF ) , a Canadian telecommunications provider, is edging higher on Wednesday afternoon as it announced plans to expand its mobile service to more than 350 additional municipalities across Quebec and Ontario.

The move is set to significantly broaden its wireless reach to consumers in communities such as Niagara, Drummondville, Hamilton, Kingston, Shawinigan, Windsor, and Burlington.

Cogeco first launched its Cogeco Mobile service in July across 13 initial markets. The company states that the response to the soft launch exceeded expectations and validated demand, supporting its rapid rollout across a larger footprint.

Under the expanded offering, current and prospective Cogeco Internet customers in newly included municipalities will be eligible to subscribe to Cogeco Mobile plans. The service promises features such as rollover data, no long-term contracts, no activation fees, and no hidden charges.

"The first phase of our deployment exceeded our expectations and confirmed what we were hearing before: our customers also want to buy wireless from us. This doesn't surprise us. According to a recent Nanos survey, Canadians want real alternatives to the Big Three and believe that regional players are the solution to drive more competition," said Frederic Perron, President and CEO.

The rollout is set to be completed over the coming months.

Shares of Cogeco Communications ( CGEAF ), which serves approximately 1.6 million residential and business customers in Canada and the U.S., were last seen up by $0.12 to $$64.58 on the TSX.
