Analysts polled by Capital IQ expected $0.42.
Revenue for the quarter ended March 31 fell to $1.21 billion from $1.24 billion a year earlier. Analysts surveyed by Capital IQ expected $1.17 billion.
For fiscal Q4, the company expects non-GAAP EPS of $0.52 to $0.68 on revenue of $1.23 billion to $1.32 billion. The consensus is for EPS of $0.57 on revenue of $1.27 billion.
For fiscal 2024, Coherent said it now expects non-GAAP EPS of $1.56 to $1.73 on revenue of $4.62 billion to $4.70 billion, compared with its prior outlook for non-GAAP EPS of $1.30 to $1.70 on revenue of $4.55 billion to $4.70 billion.
Analysts are looking for EPS of $1.44 on revenue of $4.62 billion.
The company's shares were up about 8% in after-hours activity.
