Commodity Champions: Seed sector will grow at 8-10% in 10 years, says Kaveri Seeds

Telangana-based Kaveri Seeds Company Ltd on Friday said that seed sector will grow at 8-10 percent in 10 years.

In an interview to CNBC-TV18, Mithun Chand, executive director, said, "India exports most of the products and we are one of the largest producers of it. We are 130 billion population, we need to be self-sufficient. We started with being a deficient country in the early 50s and 60s, now we are self-sufficient and we are exporting."

"Recently, the government has taken a move to use food products into other industrial products. So, that is a sign that we are producing more. So, with this type of small change or government help, definitely, we think we can do big in agriculture," he said.
