Market Chatter: Apollo Global Management to Add More Staff in Tokyo Office
Jan 9, 2025 5:19 AM

07:58 AM EST, 01/09/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Apollo Global Management ( APO ) is planning to add 10 new staff to its Tokyo office over the next two years, Reuters reported Thursday, citing Matthew Michelini, the company's head of Asia-Pacific operations.

The Tokyo office currently employs 20 to 25 staff, including 10 investment professionals, the report said.

With the planned expansion, the total staff in Japan will grow to 30, reinforcing the company's private equity, institutional sales, wealth management and credit operations in the region, Reuters reported.

Michelini also said the company is planning to double the staff in its Asia-Pacific wealth business over the next two years, according to the report. Apollo intends to launch wealth team hiring in South Korea and Australia by this year, although he did not disclose specific staffing targets for those markets.
