08:44 AM EDT, 10/22/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Condor Energies ( CNPRF ) , a Canadian-based energy company working in Central Asia, Wednesday said it has finished drilling the vertical portion of its first well in Uzbekistan to a total depth of 2,805 meters.
The initial portion of the first well was drilled as a vertical pilot to evaluate producing carbonate reservoir sections and deeper, under-exploited stacked clastic reservoir sections.
Based on data analysis, 28.5 m of non-contiguous net gas pay was intersected in the carbonate reservoirs, and 9.1 m of non-contiguous net gas pay was intersected in the deeper clastic sections.
If drilling conditions allow, the first well's horizontal section could be extended beyond the planned 1,000 meters, which will already be the longest horizontal section ever drilled in Uzbekistan.
The horizontal portion is expected to be completed and tested in November. As previously disclosed, it could achieve an internally estimated initial production rate between 13 and 20 million standard cubic feet per day.
Condor is engaging a contractor to provide a second drilling rig to concurrently drill at an under-developed gas field in the southern region of its licenses in Uzbekistan.
