Analysts polled by FactSet, on average, expected $4.11.

Total revenue for the 12 weeks ended Feb. 16 was $63.72 billion, compared with $58.44 billion a year earlier.

Analysts expected $63.11 billion.

Costco shares were down 1.4% in Thursday's after-hours session.
