Analysts polled by Capital IQ expected $5.06.

Revenue for the quarter ended Sept. 1 was $79.70 billion, up from $78.94 billion a year earlier.

Analysts surveyed by Capital IQ expected $80.03 billion.

Shares of the company fell 0.7% in recent after-hours activity.
