09:14 AM EDT, 05/23/2024 (MT Newswires) -- CRISPR Therapeutics ( CRSP ) said Thursday it appointed Naimish Patel as chief medical officer, effective May 28.

Patel joins the company from Sanofi ( SNY ) , where he most recently worked as the global development therapeutic area head of immunology and inflammation, CRISPR said.

The company also said it promoted Julianne Bruno to chief operating officer, effective Thursday. Bruno has been the company's senior vice president and head of programs and portfolio management since March 2023.

Shares of the company added more than 1% in recent premarket activity.
