09:09 AM EDT, 07/22/2025 (MT Newswires) -- CRISPR Therapeutics ( CRSP ) was Smart Insider's stock pick of the week after the company's non-executive Simeon George bought 989,812 shares for $51.5 million on July 16 at $52.03 apiece, while "more than doubling" his stake.

George bought the shares on behalf of SR One Capital Management, where he is the managing partner, Smart Insider said in a Tuesday note.

Their only prior transactions were subscriptions for $931,000 in October 2016 and $75 million in February last year, the note added.

"We are also surprised to see the purchase, assuming the company is in a closed period with their results expected around the 10th of August," according to the note.
