Aug 26 (Reuters) - Australian data centre operator
AirTrunk on Tuesday said it secured an A$16 billion ($10.40
billion) sustainability-linked refinancing for its Asia-Pacific
operations.
This refinancing, including a S$2.25 billion green loan for
a data centre in Singapore, makes AirTrunk the largest issuer of
sustainable financing in the APAC region, it said in a statement
on its website.
AirTrunk secured the backing of 60 banks and financiers, the
hyperscale data centre firm said, bringing its total financing,
including operations in Japan, to over A$18 billion.
The company, which was acquired by a Blackstone-led
group for A$24 billion late last year, introduced a
sustainability-linked loan (SLL) in 2021 that ties a company's
financing to its sustainability goals.
"Following AirTrunk's A$24+ billion acquisition by
Blackstone and CPPIB in 2024, we have expanded our debt
financing platform to enable our rapid growth across the
region," said Robin Khuda, AirTrunk founder and CEO.
