Oct 3 (Reuters) - The following bids, mergers,
acquisitions and disposals were reported by 1030 GMT on Friday:
** Britain's competition watchdog said it has accepted
Spreadex's proposal to sell the business-to-business unit of
Sporting Index to appease competition concerns in the UK
licensed online sports spread betting market.
** French Prime Minister Sebastien Lecornu ruled out using
special constitutional powers to ram the budget through
parliament without a vote, putting the onus on lawmakers to
agree on a compromise.
** Taiwan's Yageo has succeeded in its $740
million unsolicited bid to buy Japan's Shibaura Electronics
as a majority of shareholders tendered to its bid of
7,130 yen ($48.32) per share, it said in a filing.
** Amsterdam-listed private equity firm CVC will
acquire a 20% stake in International Schools Partnership (ISP),
which owns private schools around the world, it
reported.
** Artificial intelligence startups are attracting record
sums of venture capital, but some of the world's largest
investors warned that early-stage valuations are starting to
look frothy, senior investment executives reported.
