Deere's ZTrak Mowers With Kawasaki Engines Recalled Due to Fire, Burn Hazards
Jan 2, 2025 10:04 AM

12:30 PM EST, 01/02/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Deere's (DE) ZTrak zero-turn mowers with Kawasaki engines are being recalled by Kawasaki Motors USA due to a potential issue with the voltage regulator, the US Consumer Product Safety Commission said Thursday.

The recall involves about 39,000 units in the US and around 2,600 units in Canada with model numbers Z720E, Z730M, Z740R, and Z760R, the agency said.

The voltage regulator in the mower's engine may fail during use or storage, leading to engine overheating and posing fire and burn hazards, according to the agency.

Kawasaki received five reports of fires and 26 reports of melting and/or smoking, but no injuries were reported.

Deere didn't immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
