Deloitte committed to high standards of corporate governance, says CEO Punit Renjen
Feb 22, 2019 5:59 AM

Deloitte is very committed to high standards in terms of corporate governance, said Punit Renjen, CEO of the company, in an interview with CNBC-TV18 on Friday.

"We believe that improving audit quality is something that the public expects us to lead on, Deloitte is certainly investing heavily and trying to improve audit quality. It is an ongoing quest," said Renjen.

"We are also trying hard to live up to the public trust that has been placed in us. There is an expectation gap between what is expected of auditors and what we deliver and we are certainly prepared to engage with appropriate public policymakers to bridge that expectation gap but as a firm, you can count on Deloitte on leading particularly when it comes to audit quality," he added.

Renjen further mentioned that India is the fastest growing economy for his company. “In my perspective, India is still the shining economy. I think we are very bullish on India, probably the fastest growing economy for Deloitte."
