Delta Air Lines Increases Checked Bag Fees on Domestic and Short-Haul International Routes

04:06 PM EST, 03/05/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Delta Air Lines ( DAL ) said Tuesday it will increase fees for the first and second checked bags by $5 for most US-originating domestic and short-haul international routes.

Delta Air increased bag fees to $35 from $30 for the first checked bag and to $45 from $40 for the second, the company said.

New rates do not apply to tickets bought before Tuesday, according to the company.

Delta Air said the fees were not changed for checked bags between the US, Canada, Mexico, Ecuador, Colombia, Brazil, Chile, Peru, Paraguay, and Uruguay.
