Nishant Tripathi, the founder of the company said, "DhobiLite has successfully generated a total revenue of approximately ₹20 crore with an EBITDA of 20%. Our goal is to open 60-70 stores before the financial year ends. Expanding isn't just about numbers on a chart, its more about gaining more trust from customers and franchise partners."
In the initial phase, the company said it studied the current pricing model for laundry services. It was evident that all the expenses, such as chemical usage, water consumption, electricity, and even the capital expenditure for the machines, were inherently linked to the weight of the laundry in kilograms. In order to further standardise the procedure, they decided to introduce the kg system in India. Initially, the customer resisted the idea but later on, it got acceptance.
DhobiLite had to shut down its entire B2C model stopped serving household customers and pivoted to B2B after 1.5 years of business. It was in 2016, when the company came back to B2C again. Facilities like live-tracking systems, error-free services, and pick-up delivery helped them in formulating SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) in the industry, the company said.
