Diamond Offshore Drilling, Occidental Subsidiary Sign Two-Year Contract Extension

05:38 PM EDT, 05/15/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Diamond Offshore Drilling ( DO ) late Wednesday said it has received a two-year contract extension with Occidental Petroleum's ( OXY ) Anadarko Petroleum unit for the Ocean BlackHawk drillship for work in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico, representing a contract backlog of another $350 million, excluding any managed pressure drilling services.

The deal announced Wednesday replaces a one-year priced option agreed to by the companies in May 2023. Anadarko retains three one-year unpriced options, according to the company.

Diamond Offshore ( DO ) estimated its total backlog has grown to around $2.1 billion.
