12:00 PM EDT, 04/05/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Dr. Reddy's Laboratories (RDY) and Bayer said Friday that they have entered into a collaboration to market and distribute a second brand of Vericiguat in India.

Bayer's vericiguat, sold under the brand name Verquvo in India, is an oral soluble guanylate cyclase stimulator indicated for adults with chronic heart failure, the company said.

Per the partnership, Bayer has granted non-exclusive rights to Dr. Reddy's to market the drug under a second brand name Gantra in India.

The move will expand vericiguat's reach to help cut the risk of cardiovascular death and heart failure hospitalization in patients with chronic heart failure with reduced ejection fraction, the company added.
