EchoStar's Hughes Network Systems Opens New Manufacturing Facility, 5G Incubation Center in Maryland

10:23 AM EDT, 04/26/2024 (MT Newswires) -- EchoStar ( SATS ) unit Hughes Network Systems said Friday that it is opening a new manufacturing facility and a private 5G incubation center in Germantown, Maryland.

The facility employs about 400 engineers, technicians and manufacturing staff and produces technology equipment like satellite modems and terminals, according to the company.

Hughes said the facility covers 140,000 square feet and is situated in the Pinkney Innovation Complex for Science and Technology at Montgomery College.

EchoStar's ( SATS ) shares were up 3.1% in recent trading.
