Ecopetrol Says No Violations, Contract Breaches to Date Related to Formal Charges Against President Ricardo Roa
Mar 25, 2026 9:29 AM

12:09 PM EDT, 03/25/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Ecopetrol's ( EC ) board said Wednesday that there have been no violations of company regulations, nor breaches of any contracts or credit agreements to date, with regards to the allegations against company president Ricardo Roa of influence peddling by a public servant.

The board's statement was made in response to inquiries from minority stakeholders regarding the situation, Ecopetrol ( EC ) said.

In response to a letter from labor union USO asking Roa to be removed from his role and threatening a nationwide strike if it was not done, the board said it "reaffirms its commitment to constructive dialogue with stakeholders, to maintain operational continuity, and to create value for all its shareholders."

Earlier in March, Ecopetrol ( EC ) reported that the Colombian Attorney General's Office brought formal charges against Ricardo Roa for the alleged crime.
