12:20 PM EDT, 03/25/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Electronic Arts' ( EA ) prospects for maintaining steady growth in core franchises such as FC in soccer are positive, Oppenheimer said Monday in a report.
"FC25 and beyond will also incorporate more innovative modes for player engagement and play patterns, now that the 'shackles' from FIFA license agreements are gone," Oppenheimer said.
In discussions on the long-term financial outlook, franchise health, and growth drivers, the company highlighted new content for its free-to-play battle royale-hero shooter game Apex Legends and innovative modes for FC25 and beyond, Oppenheimer said.
For FC live service, "management identified potential growth from better user retention, payer conversion and sustained expansion on mobile and geography," Oppenheimer said. for FC25 and new versions, Electronic Arts ( EA ) plans significant innovation in play patterns to appeal to a wider audience, along with integrating more real-world media content, the report said.
The company does not plan to provide detailed guidance for financial years 2026 and 2027 like its peers, Oppenheimer said. Instead, it plans to offer a broader financial overview to accommodate potential shifts in game release schedules, the report said.
"Electronic Arts ( EA ) noted stabilized player engagement" in Apex Legends following a hacking incident, with live service content expected in six to eight months from its newly established WI studio, Oppenheimer said. "[Apex Legends] remains a clear focus of [Electronic Arts ( EA )] with mid- and long-term roadmap," the report said.
Oppenheimer has an outperform rating on Electronic Arts ( EA ) with a price target of $150.
Shares of the company fell 0.5% in recent trading Monday.
