PARIS (Reuters) - Brazilian planemaker Embraer ( ERJ ) is set to secure an order for eight E190-E2 regional jets from Virgin Australia after winning a competition against the A220, the smallest model of Europe's Airbus, industry sources said on Monday.
Embraer ( ERJ ) declined to comment and the Australian carrier could not immediately be reached outside business hours.
Such an order would be worth just under $300 million after typical industry discounts, according to estimated delivery prices from Cirium Ascend.
