11:34 AM EDT, 10/07/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Endeavour Mining ( EDVMF ) , down near 5% late morning, said it is "not currently aware of any plans to revoke any of its mining permits" in Burkina Faso.
Endeavour issued the release following media reports on an October 5 radio interview with the President of Burkina Faso, Ibrahim Traore, who was commemorating two years of his Presidency. He discussed several topics including corruption, security, transport, agriculture and mining, including a reference to certain mining permits that may potentially be revoked.
Endeavour says it remains a trusted partner to the Government of Burkina Faso, as seen by the recent settlement agreement between Endeavour, Lilium Gold and the State of Burkina Faso. That agreement involved the $60 million divestment of the Boungou and Wahgnion mines, for which Endeavour has now received the first $30 million payment.
The company's shares were last seen down $1.33 to $30.33 on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
