02:27 PM EDT, 06/24/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Eshbal Functional Food (ESBL.V), a developer of gluten-free and health-focused food products, on Tuesday detailed said it is launching a gluten-free pita bread for the U.S. market, while agreeing to acquire Israel-based baker Swonder Bread

Eshbal will pay approximately $150,000 over three years, based on a Swonder product's revenue performance formula.

Swonder Bread, which specializes in sprouted gluten-free sourdough products.

"From day one, M&A has been a key part of our strategy -- and this transaction represents one of the many steps we intend to take," said chief executive Tomer Bar Meir.

Eshbal shares were last seen up $0.05 to $0.23 on the TSX Venture Exchange.
